Quit trying to make Kane happen, Kane is never gonna happen. |
|

Kane is either
a) Going Free Agent
b) Getting paid huge bank by Buffalo to stay there
c) getting flipped at the deadline for pennies on the dollar
What isn't happening
a) Buffalo getting a huge return for Kane

Kane can get you 2 blue chip prospects but we keep trying to get a top 4 D for him. Yes a Blue Chip Prospect can become a top 4 D, but will not be a top 4 D next year.
Here is the solution.
Dante Fabbro and Jack Dougherty. Both are right handed defensemen AND they are listed (Not after the 2017 Draft class added in) the Predators #3 and #10 ranked Prospects.
Fabbro has top 4 potential and Jack Dougherty is likely a 5/6 defensmen with PP ability. Fabbro is going to need another year or 2 at BU, and Dougherty will need another year maybe 2 in the AHL. This adds to our Depth at defense which we lack big time.
Neither are NHL players today or tomorrow, BUT they do have good upside. |

What will happen to E. Kane...
A) Going to free agency
B) Getting what he's worth to stay in Buffalo ($5.5-$6.5 million)
C) Getting flipped at the trade deadline for pretty good value if he doesn't intend to resign.
D) Getting traded this summer for a top D prospect or a top 4 defenseman. Other pieces will be involved.
What's not going to happen...
A) Kane will not and I repeat WILL NOT get traded for pennies on the dollar. |

If a team had the choice between JVR and Kane, who do you think they would pick? Similar stats over a similar number of games, both with an expiring contract. The big difference is off the ice. - stonehead
JVR is also older.
Off ice issues have been over and done with for awhile now. Charges dropped. Obviously paid the accuser off but he's been in no trouble since last seasons draft. |

Buffalo will be stuck with the bill, when/if he's moved. No team is going to take his cap number and baggage with a smile on their face. So is it really worth a daily sales pitch? Turn the page. |

If a team were willing to make the Sabres a reasonable offer for EKane he would have been traded by now.
His reputation has made him practically unmovable. |

Yeah its getting kind of old how certain people undervalue Kane's worth ... The Sabres will not trade him unless they get good return .... seems like Chicago made a good decision in keeping their Kane even with all of his off ice issues |

Their kane is probably the most offensively talented player in the league, he's worth the headache. |

Exactly. The Sabres are not getting offers commensurate with E Kane's talent for the same reason the Sabres are trying to trade him. They see his negatives (injuries, off ice issues) as being too great despite the scoring and toughness he brings. If E Kane's value is so great, why the heck is everyone in Buffalo trying to trade him? They scored less than 200 goals last year. Who will replace those goals?
If I'm Buffalo I'd keep him this year. Try to sign him to a deal. If not, flip him at the deadline to a top team. His cap hit in March will be low, thus opening up the number of potential bidders. Right now top teams have no cap space. Rebuilding teams like Colorado and Vancouver may have the cap space but it makes no sense to trade for him on many levels |

While I understand all the hate because of the off-ice issues, Kane scored 28 goals, with 25 coming even strength goals.... How many of those type of scorers get traded for pennies on the dollar? I'll tell you... NONE. JB will trade him but not for pennies on the dollar. |

Kane will be traded for pennies on the dollar. He is basically impossible to trade, unless we are willing to accept a 2nd rd pick, which is apparently the best offer for him so far. |
